Additionally, the camera was making an unstoppable beeping noise. I finally managed to turn the camera off. I finally decided to get it and ended up being very disappointed. The response was way too slow. The HD video is excellent. It's as good as or better than my Panasonic HD camcorder puts out. I ended up returning it and buying a Nikon s8100 for about the same price. The pic and video/audio quality is fine and I'm happy with it. Rinsed off the saltwater and took it to the mountains for the long shots. It is small enough for a pocket and great for hiking and backpacking - no worries on dropping.
Despite the fact that I was very attracted by the water-proof and shock-proof capabilities I decided to return it. Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 Digital Camera The first day I used this camera at the beach, sea water caused the lens cover shutter to fail.
I would have to return to the hotel to charge or not take any afternoon / night pictures. The camera would also stop focusing and the pictures came out blurry.

To get a quality shot it I feel like you have to select the correct camera setting first, which just adds time and annoyance. I've been using Canon Powershots the past 10 years and this camera doesn't even compare to the Canon's point and shoot capability. So now I ended up spending a lot of money on a broken camera. I'm hoping Olympus will fix it and that I just got a bad apple. What is the real difference between; "Automatically optimizes the camera's settings based on the shooting situation" and "The camera is set automatically based on the scene." There are 11 scene modes and 21 sub-scene modes. It was a great buy! It's really fun to use around water, like waterparks, the pool and amusement parks.
I give this camera 5 STARS and a big thumbs up! It also seems the time between shots takes longer. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. I purchased this camera before a trip to Puerto Rico when I realized my scuba diving camera was broken and could not be repaired before the trip.
It took forever to turn on and to switch between modes. I missed a lot of shots because of that.
